Sophia’s Tuscan Grille Brings Italian Tradition and Creativity to Warwick
At Sophia’s Tuscan Grille in Warwick, Italian comfort food shares the table with a changing lineup of creative dishes. Located at 1729 Warwick Avenue, the restaurant describes its approach as fresh, scratch-made cooking rooted in tradition, with a weekly rotating menu that gives returning diners something new to explore.
Chef and owner Christopher Palios brings family experience and formal training to the kitchen. According to his biography, he began learning Italian recipes alongside his Sicilian grandmother at age seven and took his first restaurant job at fourteen. He later studied at Johnson & Wales University and trained in northern Italy, experiences that help explain the restaurant’s combination of familiar flavors and contemporary ideas.
Restaurant photographs show a welcoming dining room with golden walls, framed artwork and neatly set tables. Food images range from a tomato-sauced dish topped with cheese to seafood pasta and a steak served over fries, offering a visual introduction to the kitchen’s variety.
Sophia’s is also a BYOB destination. Its website welcomes guests to bring wine, with a corkage fee of $4 per person. Dinner is served Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday breakfast runs from 8 a.m. to noon.
Beyond dining, Sophia’s offers catering and private events, extending its Italian cooking to celebrations and gatherings.
