Providence Pumpkin Trail Brings a New Theme for October
Roger Williams Park Zoo’s Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is underway in Providence, with more than 5,000 glowing pumpkins turning an evening visit into a seasonal Rhode Island outing.
This year’s theme, The Great Pun-Kin Trail, uses wordplay, pop culture references and playful characters throughout the carved displays. The event continues through November 1.
Regular evening hours are 6 to 10:30 p.m., with final entry at 10 p.m. Standard tickets are timed and must be purchased online in advance.
Monday through Thursday admission costs $20 for adults and $16 for children ages 2 through 12. Friday through Sunday prices rise to $23 and $19, respectively. Children ages 1 and younger enter free.
Families seeking a quieter experience can attend sensory friendly hours on October 20 and 21, from 5 to 6 p.m. Those sessions omit music and special effects; tickets are purchased in person that evening.
Visitors should also note that November 1 is reserved for adults ages 21 and older.
Free parking is available nightly on a first come basis, with optional premium parking.
For travelers, the display can anchor an overnight Providence stay or an evening excursion. Choosing a weekday offers lower admission prices while leaving the weekend for other plans.
